How to Buy the Right Skin Care Products for the Person You Love This Christmas
Christmas Carols are being played in shopping centres and Christmas day menus are getting planned. Aah Christmas ... it really is one of my favourite times of the year!
I’ll be celebrating Christmas a little differently this year, trading the scorching hot Australian beaches for the always-exciting-but-incredibly-frosty, New York City! To say I’m excited is an understatement.
Before I head off though, there’s one very important thing I need to do … buy Christmas gifts for my loves!
I’m a huge fan of buying skin and body products for the special people in my life … but it’s not something I suggest everyone does UNLESS they are armed with the knowledge and how-to. Which is why I’m here!
There’s a few very important things you need to take into consideration when you buy skin and body products for people. Because everyone’s skin is different, the products need to be selected with your loves unique skin composition in mind, otherwise you’re going to be doing little more than gifting them skin damage and wasting your money!
Here’s the 3 top things you need to consider when buying skin and body products for someone else ...
Allergies and sensitivities
Be sure to keep any allergies and sensitivities of the person you’re buying for in mind when make your selection. Nuts, synthetic fragrances, essential oils and preservatives are just some things that are found in many skin and body products that can cause irritation and trigger allergic reactions.
It’s important to keep in mind the fact that everyone has a different skin type, and that what products your skin loves, might aggravate someone else’s. If you know what skin type the person you’re buying for has - perfect! If not, find out (cryptically of course - you need to keep up the Christmas surprise!)
One you’re in the know, you’re good to go! Generally speaking, here’s what I suggest:
Foaming and gel cleansers for oily skin
Gel and cream cleansers for normal skin
Cream and milky cleansers for sensitive and combination skin.
You simply cannot skimp on quality when it comes to caring for your skin. Do your research and read reviews! If the product you purchase for the person you love is of poor quality, you’ll be doing nothing more than damaging their skin and throwing your precious money down the drain. A simple Google search will gift you all you need to know.
If you’re still confused then here’s what I suggest - choose products that are natural, olive based and don’t contain any common irritants like nuts, lavender and rose.
And of course, if all else fails, you really can’t go wrong with a gift voucher (I mean, who doesn’t LOVE a gift voucher!?) If you’re wanting to help your friend ‘up’ their skin care game, or support them to heal a skin issue they’re experiencing, a voucher from a professional clinic is the way to go. Plus - here’s a hot tip for you - most skin clinics have specials running at this time of the year. Bonus!
Enjoy your Christmas beauty. I hope it’s filled with love, laughter and clear skin!
